Finnish film snatches Cairo Film Festival Golden Pyramid
The Finnish film "Letters to Father Jacob", directed by Klaus Haro, snatched the prize of the Golden Pyramid as the best film in Cairo International Film Festival on Friday.
The film is also the winner of the best screenplay in this year's film festival which concluded on Friday.
Mona Achache of France was chosen the best director for her film "The Hedgehog" which was also awarded the special prize for jury (the Silver Pyramid).
The prize for the best actor went to the Indian actor Subrat Dutta for his role in "Madholal Keep Walking" directed by Jai Tankand the Egyptian actor Fathy Abdel Wahab for his role in "Nile Birds" directed by Magdy Ahmed Aly.
The best actress prize went to the Polish actress Karolina Piechota for her role in "Splinters".
The 33rd Cairo International Film Festival opened on Nov. 10 with India being the guest of honor in this year's event.
According to the organizing committee, 42 films out of 150 movies from 67 countries and regions, including 11 movies from six Arab states, took part in the competition sections of the event.
